Celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee
The first event is at Auden House, St Anne's Court at 2.30pm on Friday June 1st when residents will be entertained by York singer Mickey Ramsbottom, followed by a strawberry cream tea and a jubilee themed raffle.
Residents of Auden House will be joined by tenants from Bretgate, Margaret Philipson Court and Lichfield Court.
On Saturday the Heworth Ladies Choir will provide the entertainment for the Faber Street party which starts at 2pm.
More than 80 people are expected to attend, many of whom were formally residents of the Richmond Street pre fabs and have now been re-housed amongst their former friends and neighbours in new homes.
Mrs Barbara Whitehead, who is helping to organise the event with Mrs Sheila I'Anson, said: "We are expecting a very large turnout. It is a great opportunity for the community that has been kept together from Richmond Street to get together with new residents.
"It's just marvellous that the community has been maintained and we all looking forward to having a wonderful day celebrating such an historic event in our lives."
York Housing Association and Tees Valley Housing Association have both made a contribution to the cost of the party.
Mrs Whitehead added: "Thanks to the support of the two housing associations we will be having a really nice party with plenty of food for all. We wouldn't have been able to cater for so many people without their help."
