Family Housing Support Scheme

This scheme provides support to seven families in rented accommodation from either a social landlord or City of York Council who are in a crisis situation and about to become homeless. We provide intensive support for about a month to prevent homelessness and avert the crisis. We can visit customers at home three or four times a week.

Once the situation has stabilised we would help the customer decide if further support was required and refer them onto another suitable scheme such as our own Flexible Support Scheme.

We also provide a drop in service at City of York offices in George Hudson Street to provide one off support to prevent homelessness. A Housing Options Officer or the single access worker at City of York Council will tell you when the next drop in for families will be.

Eligibility

For families in crisis situation and facing homelessness. Must be in rented accommodation through a social landlord or City of York Council, or private rented or home owner and living in the City of York boundaries
